Q. Are all Doodles Non-Shed and
Hypoallergenic?
A. NO! There are no guarantees to whether a puppy will be
non-shed or hypoallergenic. Because of the genes from the "Poodle" most Doodles
will be "low-shed" and people who are allergic to dogs will be able to
"cope" easier with these breeds than with the full blooded
"Retrievers". Some however will be completely non-shed and hypoallergenic but
you will not be able to make a final judgment until the puppy is approx. one year old.
Please take this into consideration before you commit to a puppy. F1B pups would be better
for someone with severe dog allergies. These are our second generation dogs that contain
75% poodle genes
Q. Can you guarantee what kind of "coat" the Doodle will have?
A. No! The final "coat" of the puppy will not be
evident until they are approx. 9 - 12 months old. Coats can vary from Straight, Wavy or
Curly.
Q. Do you have a health guarantee?
A: Yes. We give you a written THREE year
health guarantee on genetic disorders. We take every medical precaution before breeding
our dogs to insure against any health problems. However some things are out of our hands
so we will back our puppies for five years against any genetic health problems.
Q. Do you ship your puppies?
A. Yes we will ship our puppies. The cost to ship within the
US is $300. This includes the crate, vet check and airfare. Puppies will not be
shipped until they are at least 8 weeks of age.
Q. Will the puppies have any shots or vet checks?
A. All puppies are wormed at 6 weeks of age. They are also
treated for Coccidia at 6 and 8 weeks of age if they are going to be shipped. Booster
shots are given at 6 & 9 weeks. You will need to follow up with another booster at 12
weeks, rabies and heartworm when recommended by your vet and monthly flea/tick prevention.
Q. What should I feed my new puppy?
A. We start feeding our puppies Chicken and Rice puppy food
at 4 weeks of age. We recommend that you continue on a quality puppy food until
5 months of age and then move to an adult food. We find that large breed
puppy food contains too much protein and can lead to some large bone growth issues. Costco
Chicken and Rice adult formula with vegetables is a good quality reasonably priced food.
See our recommended foods and foods for dogs with food allergies. Also, we
mix in some commercially available raw dog food as well
Q. What if I can no longer keep my new puppy?
A. Melorich will take back any puppy that came from our dogs
at any time and any age. There will be no refund given but your dog will be kept in our
care until we can find a suitable family to adopt them. I do not ever want any of our
puppies to end up in a shelter or someplace even worse.
Q. Do you have a contract for our safety?
A. Yes, No puppy is sold without a signed contract from both
parties. If you can not find a copy on our website request a copy and we will forward one.
Q. How do I reserve a puppy?
A. We require a signed application along with a minimum
deposit of $300. This deposit is non-refundable. The balance is due before the puppy is 3
weeks old. Shipping costs are due at least 5 days prior to shipping.
Q. Is there a waiting list?
A. There is a waiting list from time to
time. There is a $300 non-refundable deposit required to be put on
the waiting list. You can always "pass" and wait for the next litter. If you do
not take a puppy within one year your deposit will no longer be applied to the purchase of
one of our puppies. This deposit is refundable if we can not provide you a pup from the
first litter you requested
Q. Is there a notification list?
A. Yes. This list is free. You may
request that you are notified the next time there is a puppy available. Email your request
to melorichlabradoodles@gmail.com |
